Ruby Howells is 17 and has studied flute at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music since 2015. In 2018 Ruby won the British Flute Society’s Young Performer Competition and performed at St John Smith’s Square, London. She is currently a member of The National Youth Orchestra of GB and will be performing at the BBC Proms at The Royal Albert Hall in July this year.
Ellis Thomas is 17, he began learning the piano when he was six. He has now been studying at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music for some six years and has been the recipient of many very impressive prizes. He became a Licentiate of The Royal Schools of Music last year and performs frequently at prestigious music festivals. He has also appeared as a concerto soloist at the Welsh Chamber Orchestra and the St. John’s Festival Orchestra. He hopes to pursue a career as a concert pianist.
Cantorion Cognati, are two young ladies who have sung together since they were children. They are cousins from vocal and instrumental backgrounds whose voices have matured to a wonderfully evocative blend particularly when singing duets. They will entertain us solo and together with modern and traditional songs in Latin, English and Welsh.
The Llansilin Welsh Choir of Mixed voices- Llansilin is a rural village situated in Montgomery, Powys about 6 miles from Oswestry. The Llansilin Welsh Choir of Mixed voices draws its singers from the extensive rural community. The Choir under their conductor Mrs Iona Jones practice regularly, sing in both English and Welsh and are well known for their very high standards.
